A fresh spell of rain swept across several parts of Delhi on Saturday morning. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Palam, Jafarpur, Lodhi Road, Safdarjung and Ridge recorded light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
The weather department forecast a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain throughout the day. The temperature in Delhi stood at 26.4 degrees Celsius at 8:30 am.
The fresh rainfall also affected key stretches in Gurugram, where accumulated rainwater disrupted traffic movement and caused inconvenience to commuters.
The showers came a day after heavy downpours lashed parts of the national capital on Friday afternoon, disrupting flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
With another spell of rain affecting Delhi and Gurugram, the red alert issued by the weather office underscores the continuing impact of the weather conditions across the national capital region.
